"Now Abram was living near the great trees of Mamre the Amorite, a brother of Eshcol and Aner, all of whom were allied with Abram." Gen. 14:13
Two chapters after Abraham is called to be a blessing to all the peoples of the earth, we have this account of Abraham's interaction with the Amorities. By this time Abraham had become a trusted friend of this people group, and his influence appears to have been strong. When God spoke of the future demise of Caananite society to Abraham, He said it would not take place for 400 years because "the sin of the Amorites has not yet reached its full measure" (Gen. 15:18). It seems that Abraham's presence as "salt and light" served as a preserving agent for righteousness among this group. Today, we are called to do the same; to find an unreached people group, settle among them, and become influencers for the Kingdom.

Pray that every unreached people might have ambassadors of Christ living among them.
