praise & pray for Rowena

sell your old CDs! GIVE TO IMPACT ETERNITY!
- Rowena = cash converters girl I sold my old CDs to - gave her a million dollar tract ;)
ask Father to give her spiritual sight!

"there is a day coming when he will not be found. There may come such a time in this life; it is certain that at death and judgment the door will be shut. There must be not only a change of the way, but a change of the mind. We must change our judgments about persons and things. It is not enough to break off from evil practices, but also evil thoughts. To repent is to return to our Lord, against whom we have rebelled. If we do so, God will multiply to pardon, as we have multiplied to offend. But let no one make little with this abundant mercy, or use it as an occasion to sin." - Matthew Henry's commentary on Isaiah 55:6-13 -

praise God for times of sickness that give more time to be still & LISTEN to HIS Words .. :)
listening to a series of talks on "In the World but Not of the World"
MUST LISTEN! [big file, 89MB - or ask me & i can burn on CD for you or mail you CD -- it's really *THAT* good!]
MP3 DOWNLOAD SET HERE: http://www.sovereigngracestore.com/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=A1170-00-51

i felt Father convicting me that i'd abosorbed way too much worldly values through the music i once listened to & spent so much money & time searching out to buy .. so I sorted through my CD collection & took a whole heap down to cash converters 2day - even tho I didn’t get much for them comparedto the original purchase price, (~$1 / CD) it was still better than sitting in my closet doing nothing.
Every AU$1.50 can send 250 gospel tracts to those who've NEVER BEFORE HEARD THE GOSPEL in Asia!
Check this web page out to see & read how $0.006 [that's SIX TENTHS OF A CENT!] can change a lost soul's ETERNAL DESTINY!!!
http://www.blogger.com/www.gfa.org/gospel-gives-new-life-to-cave-man
So what I got from my old Cds went to get 12,500 gospel tracts for the unreached in Asia STILL WAITING to hear the Name of Jesus!
What's even more kewl is most tracts in Asia not only get read, but gets passed on to impact others too!! :D
I guess all my past 'wastage' on music & worldly stuff has only been used to make me the keener to invest in eternity & lay up treasures in heaven .. =)
u got old CDs u don’t want / no longer listen to that convey worldly values?

best to trade it in [the sooner the better - CDs will probably go the way of cassette tapes soon] for even a li'l cash to make an eternal impact on some precious lost souls' life than hold onto it

- I was definitely tempted to 'hang on' to a few CDs but Father's been showing me He often asks me o give up the 'good things ' in life so He can give me His BEST!
... WHY would i want to rip myself off anymore than i already have been?? :)
Praying y'all keep an eternal perspective on things!

PLEASE DO LET ME KNOW! is there Anything I can praise with/pray for you? :)

pray for us!

"But Lord, Gideon asked, how can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family." Jud. 6:15
Today we might say that Gideon had a problem with his self-image. His argument sounds familiar: "I can't serve the Lord because I'm a nobody!" The Bible and 2000 years of church history remind us that God is in the business of taking nobodies and getting His work done through them. He often chooses the unlikely person because God's power is made perfect in weakness. Do you feel that the task of evangelizing across cultural barriers is too hard? Are you convinced that God could never use you to penetrate a frontier? He can-and He will if you are simply available. The greatest ability is availability.

Pray that we can see ourselves and the world through His eyes. Pray that you will clearly understand what God wants to do through you.

"Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, was leading Israel at that time" Jud. 4:4

While many today struggle over the question of what role women should play in the church, the example of Deborah reminds us that in times of crisis, women often give strong leadership. From the early days of Protestant missions, women have carried tremendous responsibilities in overseas service and mission administration. Many times, in areas where men could not (or would not) go, women have taken the gospel to peoples who would otherwise never have had the opportunity to hear. They are the only ones who can take the gospel to women in conservative cultures throughout the developing world.

Pray for God to raise up more of His daughters to reach the unreached Muslim, Hindu and Buddhist women.

"Because this nation has violated the covenant that I laid down for their forefathers...I will no longer drive out before them any of the nations Joshua left when he died." Jud. 2:20-21
God commanded Israel to conquer all the peoples of Canaan and to assume possession of all the land. But the years were long and the battles hard, and Israel settled for less. Those nations left unconquered became their snare and eventually their conquerors. So today, when we reject or adulterate God's commands, our sins become the snares which frustrate God's blessings to us and through us. In particular, those peoples from whom we withhold the blessings of the gospel may become strong, bitter enemies of Jesus and His Church.

Pray that we, His Church, will not grow weary in taking His good news to the nations. Pray for perseverance.

I am GREATLY LOVED. PERIOD!

I’m on a journey... and loving every seemingly slow second of it :]
Yesterday I received a big Heavenly reminder.
How slow I’ve been to realize... For much of my life I’ve been living blind / ignorant to this reality:
I am GREATLY LOVED. PERIOD!
Maybe it’s because I’m far too self-absorbed in my messed-up past combined with my messed-up thinking that it’s all up to me to perform to a good enough level for anyone to love me?
Or Maybe I’ve just bought into the lie that nobody could love me if they really knew me the way I know me.
I’m not the judge, even though I’ve been living like as if I were for far too long, and typical to His passionately jealous Fatherly love for His own children, He broke into my world & showed me yet again The Truth of just how greatly I am loved!

I’m sick of believing the lie, sick of playing the religious game of “trying to earn points with someone who’s no longer keeping score anymore” [go here to download & listen to an audio chapter www.lifestream.org/audio/Chapter17.mp3
What a joy this journey to freedom has been! Father really has a sense of humor – this all started with a precious sister’s reply to an email of mine asking for prayer when I was suffering yet another bout of diarrhea referring me to a link Father led her to --
www.lifestream.org

I did an [unknowingly] bad job of cutting my own hair – it was getting annoying & I was too impatient to wait another week & a bit for my next free haircut appointment : either my self-cut hair wasn’t that bad or nobody cared so much as to say anything about it except my parents – Sunday morning whilst I was getting ready to go off to meet God’s people, they told me they were going to fix my hair. All the natural childish thoughts went through my head, and to be honest I really couldn’t have cared the slightest bit about how bad my hair looked – any sense of self-respecting dignity I my have once had was lost long ago . . . I’m not sure where or how but after so long I’ve just gotten used to it.
After mum quickly fixed my hair, I started shaking the hair off my clothes … knowing some hair must’ve gotten into the other many layers of clothing I was wearing [I don’t know why but I’m like, super
-sensitive to any bit of cold these days?!] I started taking off each layer to shake off.
dad told go inside & do it but I just stayed right there like a stubborn kid .. and in the process ended up tearing one of my shirts :O
“you still won’t listen to me!?” dad said. So I went inside to the bathroom by myself thinking it’d be easier to clean up my mess of hair there than in a carpeted area, then dad came in & we had an argument over miscommunication.
only now do i understand He wanted to help clean me up, but i, in my stupid independent spirit, hidden under a veneer of not wanting to trouble him, wanted to try to clean myself up by myself . . .
I shouldn’t have raised my voice in anger at my daddy who loves me and only has my very best in mind always!
My dad had the last word: “you can shout at me, do what you want but when will you realize that all I’m doing is because i love you?”

Why oh why am i so slow to understand how much I am loved by my daddy?
A wave of lies & self-condemning questions rushed into mind;
“what’s wrong with me? Why am I so stupid?”
“I’m such a burden.”
“how long must i go on like this, causing trouble & hurting those who love me?”

But My Heavenly Father’s arms of love swept me into His loving embrace of truth before I could be overwhelmed by the wave of lies threatening to pull me down.
It’s just like me to focus on the problem of myself but totally missing the blindingly obvious truth that even if I was a problem, I was a very dearly loved one!

There was a very obvious spiritual parallel to all this that caused a major breakdown, leaving me absolutely broken in a mess of tears – very relieving and an answer to prayer that my God would fill my eyes with tears because they’ve been dry for far too long even after encountering so many things that must break His heart!

A few lessons i'd like to share with you on reflection:
* It’s NOT about what I do / don’t do but WHO I’m loved by!!
* Jesus came to free me from myself!
* My Heavenly Father cares for me so much more than I could, especially at the moments when I don’t even care about myself at all!
* My Heavenly Father loves me so much more than I could ever love myself – especially at the moments when I most hate myself!
In the light of this Truth that I am so greatly loved, do I have any right at all to keep such hateful thoughts towards myself?
* All my good intentions cannot cover up the fact that I’m not good enough & I constantly need The Saviour!
* Father is more willing to do things for me than I realize!
* I can only serve Him by having Him serve me first.
* in spite of all that’s true about me in all my sinfulness, The Greater Truth is, He loves me, He wants me, and He likes me!
* He’s not keeping score anymore!!
* I can’t do anything good on my own apart from Father!
* How dare I relate to Father like an angry judge & not like He’s family!!
-- I’ve been raised to think of God only as an angry Judge who cannot love me because I’m just way too sinful!
What kind of gospel can I present to people when all I know of God is an unapproachably Holy God to whom I can only relate to in fear, shame & insecurity because it’s all based on my performance & my performance is continually bad?!
Hooray Jesus came to show us The Father who not only is Righteous but is Loving – lavishly loving too! God came near!

Please pray for me as I journey on to know Him for who He really is .. I know it’ll take the rest of this life & forever to comprehend the Awesomeness of who He is, but I’m sure going to take much pleasure & delight in savoring every second of it, no matter how seemingly slow it may go!
I really need Open eyes, ears & an open heart to live LOVED!
So dear precious beloved brothers & sisters, may our Father keep opening our eyes, ears & hearts to the many ways He’s showing you in the everyday of life how Greatly He loves you!
How can I best pray for you in your journey?
Please let me know if any of the above was confusing to you & how I may possibly help you in your journey :)
~don't be shy, be loved!~

pray for us!

"Then the Lord raised up judges..." Jud. 2:16
God did not abandon Israel in spite of their sin and disobedience. He sent judges to lead the people in victory over their enemies. Today we praise God for those whom He raises up to remind us of Christ's command to disciple all nations and to equip us to obey that command. Student mission leaders are banding together, encouraging other students to pray and plan to go with the gospel to the nations. Pastors and denominational leaders are encouraging their congregations to send young people and to faithfully support them with their prayers and their money. Mission executives are developing new plans to penetrate the world's remaining people groups with the gospel.

Pray that the Church of Jesus Christ will respond to the leadership of today's "judges," humbly taking the gospel to the ends of the earth.

"Then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve." Josh. 24:15
Choice is a great privilege-and a fearful responsibility. The greatest choice any individual or group will ever make is which god it will serve. In days in which "personal freedom" is exalted over all virtues, the call to serve another sounds like foolishness. Yet even when carnal men think themselves most free, they find themselves in bondage to lust, greed or materialism. Scripture reminds us that God has created people for Himself, to love and serve Him. If we reject God and worship someone or something else, bondage and idolatry results. When we serve God wholeheartedly, we experience spiritual freedom. In the words of a hymn, "Make me a captive, Lord, and then I shall be free. Force me to render up my sword and I shall conqueror be."

Pray for a heart that is willing to make choices that honor Him.

"Tell the Israelites to designate cities of refuge...so that anyone...may flee there and find protection from the avenger of blood." Josh. 20:2-3
God provided cities of refuge for the Israelite who killed someone accidentally. The New Testament compares these cities to the Lord Jesus, "to Whom we may flee for refuge." There we can find forgiveness and healing for our sin. But what about those who have never heard, who seek night and day to find forgiveness of sin and peace of heart? We must hurry and tell them the good news about their wonderful refuge from sin and guilt!

Pray for more workers who will eagerly take the message of refuge in Christ to the nations.
-- what is your God- given role? to go? send? mobilise? pray? welcome?

God may not want every Christian on the mission field, but He surely wants every
Christian in the mission field of His service wherever that may be. It’s the only place to be--no other job has any value.

"Give me this hill country..." Josh.14:12

Praise God for Caleb! The seasoned warrior of the army of God was not ready to retire, even though he was 85 years old. "I am still as strong today as the day Moses sent me out (45 years earlier); I'm just as vigorous to go out to battle now as I was then." What a testimony of God's faithfulness. Praise God today for those who see "retirement" as the opportunity to pitch in full-time, helping somehow to penetrate the final frontiers of the gospel. These enthusiastic older soldiers of the cross bring a mature, and greatly needed, perspective to the battle.

Pray that God will give us an army of wholehearted Calebs. Pray that they will use their latter years as a time to help bring the peoples of the earth to acknowledge the lordship of Christ.

"When Joshua was old and well advanced in years, the Lord said to him, 'You are very old, and there are still very large areas of land to be taken over.'" Josh. 13:1
On the one hand, Joshua could have responded to this observation with discouragement. He had fought so long, and yet there was still so much to do. But God wanted the next generation of the Hebrew nation to participate in the excitement of His miracles. Today, there are about 600 Bible-believing congregations for every unreached people group. Is the job do-able?

Pray for the Church to rise to the occasion of finishing up the task in this generation.

"But the Israelites acted unfaithfully in regard to the devoted things." Josh. 7:1
Less familiar than the great victory at Jericho is the disastrous defeat at Ai. One of Israel's warriors, Achan, had coveted and taken some of the beautiful things from the spoils of Jericho which God had reserved for Himself. As a result, the nation of Israel suffered a devastating defeat at the little town of Ai. Every soldier of the cross of Jesus Christ today must guard against the same type of covetousness and greed. It is easy, like Achan, to justify our greed and forget God's command. Jesus said, "Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions" (Luke 12:15).

Pray that the Holy Spirit will guard our hearts from all kinds of greed that can siphon off resources for His Kingdom. Pray that we will be true to obey Him.

~!REJOICE~! death has lost its sting~!

i'm *SO* jealous .. my grandmum's just gone home to be with Jesus ~!! =D

just read Romans 8 yesterday .. was reminded of how glorious is our hope of being released from pain & suffering, how all our suffering now is _nothing_ compared with the glory God will give us later & _nothing_ , not even death, can separate us from the love of God in Jesus Christ our Lord!!!
:D PRAISE! :D
GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME!!!!!
:D even in death, there is great reason to rejoice for the Christian -- death being but the doorway to eternal bliss & joy with The Savior, Jesus!!

:D Jesus was most certainly resurrected, so we will be resurrected too!

:D grandmum's been released from her suffering & enjoying the glory God will give her!

:D giving the family peace & joy that surpasses understanding in the face of death!

*PRAY*
* the countless millions of others dying without such glorious hope would have opportunity to hear & respond to the gospel of Jesus Christ before it's too late!
* Grandmum's life of love for Jesus will be exponentially multiplied down through every coming generation of the Wong family!
* we'd all live like the next 5 minutes might be our last 5 minutes: LIFE'S *so* SHORT -- LET'S LIVE FOR HIS ETERNAL KINGDOM! AWAY WITH ALL THIS TEMPORARY TRASH THAT STEALS OUR TIME, AFFECTION & ATTENTION!!!

lyrics of Grandmum's favorite hymn, so beautiful ;)

Jesus is all the world to me, my life, my joy, my all;

1. He is my strength from day to day, without Him I would fall.

When I am sad, to Him I go, no other one can cheer me so;

When I am sad, He makes me glad, He’s my Friend.

2. Jesus is all the world to me, my Friend in trials sore;

I go to Him for blessings, and He gives them over and over.

He sends the sunshine and the rain, He sends the harvest’s golden grain;

Sunshine and rain, harvest of grain, He’s my Friend.

3. Jesus is all the world to me, and true to Him I’ll be;

O how could I this Friend deny, when He’s so true to me?

Following Him I know I’m right, He watches over me day and night;

Following Him by day and night, He’s my Friend.

4. Jesus is all the world to me, I want no better Friend;I trust Him now,

I’ll trust Him when life’s fleeting days shall end.

Beautiful life with such a Friend, beautiful life that has no end;

Eternal life, eternal joy, He’s my Friend.

pray for us!

"Joshua went up to the man and asked, 'Are you for us or for our enemies?' 'Neither,' he replied, 'but as commander of the army of the Lord have I come.'" Josh. 5:13-15
This passage is very instructive. God is not "for" one people or "against" another. He is only "for" His purposes among all the peoples of the earth. The story is told of a lady who asked American President Lincoln during the Civil War, "Do you think God is on your side?" The president wisely answered, "The question is not if God is on my side, but if I am on God's side."

Pray that God will help us to see the peoples and nations of the earth from His perspective - as peoples who desperately need to hear and to receive the gospel.

"At that time the Lord said to Joshua, 'Make flint knives and circumcise the Israelites again.'" Josh. 5:2
The Israelites had momentum! What a seemingly inopportune time to incapacitate all the warriors for an entire week! Yet for God to save them, they had to be holy. Circumcision was not an inconsequential religious rite. It was the God-given sign that Yahweh had set them apart for a special purpose. It was also a reminder that they must do things God's way, though human reasoning would tell them to continue to move ahead. Are you acting on your own reasoning, or obeying God's commands, even when they don't make sense?

Pray that God will give us the willingness to obey Him, even when circumstances tell us to do otherwise. Pray for His holiness to penetrate our hearts.
"For the Lord your God dried up the Jordan...that all the peoples of the earth might know that the hand of the Lord is powerful and so that you might always fear the Lord your God." Josh. 4:23-24
Do you have an experience that clearly demonstrates His workings in your life? One of the "pointers" for the children of Israel was His miracle of moving the water of the Jordan River so they could cross in safety. The nations could see the powerful hand of the Lord. There were two great purposes of this miracle. One was to preserve the Israelites. Secondly, it showed the nations the hand of the One who can always be trusted.

Pray that God will show you your Jordan River experience, and use it to increase your faith in times of doubt. Pray that He will use your renewed faith to bless the nations.

"Each of you is to take up a stone...to serve as a sign among you." Josh. 4:5-6
As the people of Israel moved through Canaan in obedience to God's will, the landscape became littered with strange piles of rocks! They were piled up by the Israelites as memorials to God's special deliverance or provision in times of need. Today God is creating new kinds of memorials - not piles of rocks, but "living stones," people who know Christ and are banded together in worshipping congregations throughout the world. Could each of these congregations be used of Him to duplicate themselves among still unreached nations?

Pray that He will empower you and your church to establish a witness among those that have not yet heard.
"When you see the ark of the covenant...follow it.... Then you will know which way to go, since you have never been this way before." Josh. 3:2-4
Because of their unbelief and rebellion at Kadesh Barnea, the people of Israel had wandered for 40 years in the wilderness, following their old trails and using their old campsites. Now it was time to move ahead in faith and obedience. But how? They didn't know where to go. They had never been this way before. God said, "Follow me." We face the challenge of about 10,000 unreached people groups. In order to plant churches among these cultures, we must discover His plans to reach them. Will He show us something in their culture that will help them to understand Christ's redeeming sacrifice? As we reach out in obedience to Christ's Great Commission, we can depend on Him to show the way.

Pray that God will clearly show His ways to missionaries trying to find the key to endearing the nations to the one, true Savior.

pray for us!

"As I was with Moses, I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you." Josh. 1:5
How precious this promise must have been to Joshua as he assumed leadership of Israel! And this promise is for us as well: God's presence is the greatest resource in missions. It is God Himself who moves through us to cross the cultural and social barriers which hinder understanding and acceptance of the good news about Jesus Christ. We, in our own power and energy, are not able to do this great work. Jesus reinforced this truth when He linked the command to "go and make disciples of all nations" with the promise to "be with you always, to the very end of the age" (Matt. 28:19, 20).

Thank God for this precious promise!

pray for us!

"Moses my servant is dead. Now then, you and all these people, get ready to cross the Jordan River." Josh. 1:2
What fearsome words: "Moses is dead." Moses was the man through whom God had done great and mighty works in Egypt and in the wilderness. Joshua, to whom God spoke these words, had been simply an assistant. Today, our generation stands in awe of the missionary giants of previous eras. William Carey, Hudson Taylor, Cameron Townsend, and Donald McGavran are no longer walking among us. Nevertheless, God's challenge to us today rings as clear and sure as this word to Joshua centuries ago: "Now you, and all these people, get ready to move." Thus the torch of responsibility passes from generation to generation. Are you ready to take the torch?

Thank the Lord for those who have gone before us. Pray for His anointing for those who will lead in the near future.

"The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler's staff from between His feet, until he comes to whom it belongs and the obedience of the nations is His." Gen. 49:10
The coming of the Messiah and his eternal Kingdom would be the ultimate fulfillment of the promise given to Abraham. The apostle Paul also echoed this passage when he wrote of his calling to "bring about the obedience of faith among all the Gentiles" (Rom. 1:5, NASB). God has given us the privilege of participating with him in bringing about the "obedience of the nations." That is why the Great Commission is so explicit: Disciple all nations, teaching them to obey all that I have commanded (Matt. 28:19-20). We are literally commanded to disciple entire nations, and to instruct them as nations in obeying the teachings of Jesus.

Pray that every frontier people might surrender to the Lordship of Christ.
