for me - anti -SLOTH!!

i've been struck today by just how much of my life is driven by laziness. :|

even much of the "good" i do is done "the easy way" or the most convenient / trouble-free / comfortable way!

if there is a hard way requiring great effort / strenuous work, i'll naturally avoid it or give up early on if i ever go down that path!

i'm going to be really vulnerable & "spill my guts" at how laziness drives my life:

* i'm too lazy to do the hard work of engaging with strangers in various settings so i resort to reading a book / playing with my phone / listen to my mp3

* i'm too lazy to give myself to love another so i choose to stay single (yes, i must confess, beneath all the "noble reasons" i might hold onto for staying single, (some "reasons" below,i should really call some of them excuses! . .. plain sefish laziness probably lies at the root if i'm honest!
++  following Paul & Jesus who seemed to encourage singleness in these last days [Mat 19:10-12, 1Cor 7)

++ sngles can be "undistracted" in devotion to the Lord (1 Cor 7:34)

++ it's better for "her" not to be burdened by this disabled wreck of a boy-in-a-mans'-body, who can't see how he could ever lead /povide for her / future family when he does such  a shoddy job at managing his own life!
++ i'm a introvert, more often than not, i just plain prefer to be by myself than always around others!

* too lazy to personally get on the frontlines of frontier mission to those who've not yet heard the gospel of Jesus Christ so i sponsor missionaries . . . (even if i sponsor many, a couple who by God's grace have become self-supporting, does that really matter if my heart is not right?!)



* too lazy to go to a mission field without a church planted among their people group & spend years learning their culture & language so i content myself serving people who come here from "mission fields" & want to learn my languge, English! (and even then i probably spend most of my time with people from lands with well-established churches!) :"(

* i'm too lazy to overcome my disability & get a job so i happily sponge off the geerous government welfare system (even if it means i can give quite generously to  frontier mission work, does that really matter if my heart is not right?!)
* . .. this has all been quite scary to confess and bring to the surface, and i'm sure there's more! :"(

was deeply convicted on the issue of obedience at a recent bible class on Haggai - God is looking for immediate, unconditional obedience (like Abraham, Elijah & Philip showed when God told them "get up and go . .. even to do seemingly "crazy" things like sacrifice the son you've been promised and have even waited decades for!)

3 other types of obedience in the Bible that didn't please God:

* partial obedience (eg Kings of Israel who didn't go the full way in destroying the high places of idol worship in the promised land)

* delayed obedience (g Jonah)

* conditonal obedience (eg Barak the Judge)

- far too frequently i've been guilty of partial, delayed & conditional obedience rather than immediate, unconditonal obedience! :"(

i long for this to no longer be the case but know i don’t have what it takes to slay the sloth in me! >_<

O Father, please do whatever it takes to grow this beautiful Christlike obedience - slay the sloth in me!!

The great tragedy is not mainly masturbation or fornication or acting like a peeping Tom (or curious Cathy) on the internet.
The tragedy is that Satan uses the guilt of these failures to strip you of every radical dream you ever had, or might have, and in its place give you a happy, safe, secure, American life of superficial pleasures until you die in your lakeside rocking chair, wrinkled and useless, leaving a big fat inheritance to your middle-aged children to confirm them in their worldliness. That’s the main tragedy.

NORTH KOREA – THREE CHRISTIANS EXECUTED


Three leaders of an underground church in North Korea have been executed and 20 Christians have been sent to a prison labour camp in Yodok. Sources say the arrests and executions were carried out in mid-May when police raided a house in Kuwal-dong in Pyungsung County, Pyongan Province, and arrested 23 believers who were gathered there. The leaders were tried and sentenced to death, and the authorities wasted little time in carrying out the executions.

A Seoul-based group that seeks to raise awareness about injustices in North Korea, the North Korea Intellectual Solidarity, confirmed the events.

North Korea is one of the most difficult places in the world to be a Christian, and it is estimated that there are at least 400,000 Christians, all of whom are living under constant threat of imprisonment, torture or public execution if the authorities discover their Christian faith. It is thought that between 40,000 and 60,000 Christians are currently in prison labour camps because of their faith. Such camps are notorious for brutal treatment, starvation and torture, sometimes to death.

Pray for those who follow Christ in North Korea,  to stand strong & persevere in the faith, ever gowing in the depths of the riches of Christ!

Only 8 days ago 3 Christian guys set off walking 2 000 km down the Queensland coastline from Cairns to Stanthorphe (below Brisbane), here in Australia. Along the way they are speaking at churches and generally raising as much publicity as possible.



About what? The great need for ongoing and increased efforts to bring the word of God to 2000 languages yet without any bible translation.

As you can imagine the prayer needs are great! so pray!

after what semed to be a day of horribly mediocre 'witnessing' i sat next to Al on the bus - he's tragically deceived into believing he's "good enough" to go to heaven. :"(
he seemed quite disillusioned by pastors/preachers who talked big but lived selfishly . . . but i think it was just a smokescreen he put up :S
- he felt uncomfortable about where the onversation was heading before i got to take him through the 10 commandments which he claimed to live by everyday .. and i had to get off the bus soon .. so i left him with an 'eternity' gospel tract.

:D getting me through those crazy packed-out days - His grace was truly sufficient!
.. feel like i'm still in 'recovery' mode though .. haven't slept well the past few nights - having very 'active' dreams & wake up feeling tired :(
:D the awesome blessing of taking part in all i did the past packed-out 5 days!
.. i went to the mission reps retreat + combined Youth missions Rally + The mission focus + NeoLeader conference to serve .. was feeling terribly useless & 'a waste of space' as nobody really came up & talked to me about the organisation i was filling in as a rep for (probably a good thing as i wasn't too knowledgable or super-passionate about it :()

in the end, though i was seriously tired, i was SO GLAD!!! i went despite temptations to stay home & rest! Father surprised me - i ended up doing (what seemed to me anyway) very little serving but ended up being served by HIm! & came away muchly refreshed & rejoicing!

*PRAY*

* lasting lifechange to eternal impact in the lives of all who went!
* help me recover & know His Way ahead for me!
* keep mobilising His people in QLD to hear the cry of the unreached billions & take the gospel to them in any way we can before it's too late!

Imagine what that would be like for Tibetan Buddhist peoples like Nupbis! Many of these people are very familiar with death and the grisly aftermath of a hopeless funeral. They too are invited to become part of God’s kingdom where such nightmares are gone forever.


Pray that many from the Nupbi people will put their faith in the One who has conquered death, so that they will never have to experience the horrors that surround those who perish without Christ.

The Spirit of Christ in them…predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow. 1 Peter 1:11


An important principle often observed in God’s Word is the relationship between suffering and glory; the two appear to be inseparable. Peter’s first epistle highlights this theme, and Paul elsewhere speaks of our light, momentary affliction producing an eternal weight of glory. We want to help disciple all the nations. But we must understand that this will come only as many are willing to sacrifice and suffer. Frontier missionaries must go to new fields, and zealous laymen must send, pray and give of their funds. Oh the glory, when we see new believers joining the company of the redeemed!

Pray that the Father will lead His workers through suffering into wonderful glory.

Then I saw another angel flying in mid-air, and he had the eternal gospel to proclaim to those who live on the earth—to every nation, tribe, language, and people. Revelation 14:6

There are a couple of ways of relating this verse to the completely unreached Kalaktang Monpa people. One way is to say that we don’t have to reach them for Christ because an angel will someday do it. Another way is to recognize that if we don’t reach them, thousands will probably meet a Christ-less eternity. Who is to blame? We have over 600 Bible believing churches for every unreached people group. Could it be that we need to send teams to them before it becomes necessary for God to send His angels to do what we could have done?

Pray that soon there will be a team of people who will give their lives to see a vibrant Kalaktang Monpa fellowship

Sherina served me at the Woolworhs checkout so i could get my cashout bonuses [for drawing lots of $200 cash out of EFTPOS with my special card ;)] .. she was having a bad day :( .. order tracts to spread the gospel as you're sent out & about by our Lord!


- wish i could've said/done more to her but opportuinity very limited at a shopping centre checkout! >_< .. have previously given her a $1,000,000 tract which she said she liked :) may she go back to it!

then came home, thought i'd chase up a bank issue - Jenny handled my case but it wasn't resolved in the end .. i decided to let the $1 "disappearance" slide . . . tried to refer her to a website with an important message for her to see but she didn't seem to understand nor be treceptive. :(
maybe my approach was wrong?!


anyhow, may He have mercy on Jenny & save her precious soul~!
finally, please pray for favour as my application for a mobility allowance gets processed - (still need to fill out a medical report but my GP is on holidays!)

- any financial assistance i get from the government is gratefully received & allows me to be even more generous in giving to work to see the gospel reach those WHO STILL WAIT TO HEAR THE NAME OF JESUS!!!

Look, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of Him. So shall it be! Amen. vRevelation 1:7

John begins the book of Revelation with a clear vision of Jesus Christ, the One who is coming soon. In this quotation from the prophet Daniel, John emphasizes the impact the return of Jesus Christ will have upon the peoples of the earth. He says they will mourn. Why? Because, suddenly confronted with their rejection of Him, they will become aware that they deserve the judgment to come. Scripture makes it clear, however, that some from every people will rejoice at Christ’s return. These are the ones who belong to Him, who have heard and believed the gospel and who have submitted their lives to His lordship.

Pray that the Father will bless us by His Spirit as we work to increase the number of those who will delight in Jesus’ return.
