pray for the unreached!

"All have turned aside, they have together become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one." Psalms 14:4
What a reminder of the true nature of man! We are all sinners, and we all need a savior, no matter how "good" we may appear. God has provided one way out of this helpless dilemma. The only Savior, Jesus Christ, paid for every sin. How all the nations need to hear of His salvation!

Pray that believers will use this Easter season to tell the nations of the savior who died to take away the sins of the world. Pray that the unreached peoples will accept that they have sinned, and that only Jesus can reconcile them to the Father.

"He will judge the world in righteousness; He will govern the peoples with justice." Psalms 9:8
This is a great example of the "not yet" verses of the Bible. God is a perfect judge, and He will govern with perfect righteousness. But for the time being, we still have to contend with injustice coming from man's sinfulness and Satan's deceit. Part of that injustice is that many still have not heard of their only way to become part of His kingdom. Does that concern you? If so, pray fervently for the unreached peoples this month!

Pray that the Lord will speed the day when His righteousness and justice will fill the earth as the waters cover the sea. Pray that many will understand this Easter season that Jesus did come to take away the sins of the world.

"Lord, what is man, that You take knowledge of him? Or the son of man, that You are mindful of him? Man is like a breath; his days are like a passing shadow." Psalms 144:3
Man is nothing! Nothing but a breath that lasts for a moment or a passing shadow. Furthermore, other parts of Scripture, especially the first chapter of Romans, tell of man's evil desires and sinful nature. Doesn't it cause God pain to constantly woo the unreached peoples, who are in rebellion against Him? Yes, indeed! But because of His love, His righteousness, and His holy character, God pursues unbelievers so that they may have abundant life just as we, His children do. In order to be righteous ambassadors of Christ, shouldn't we be doing all we can to draw the unreached to Christ?

Ask the Lord how He wants you to pray / give / go to / for the unreached peoples.

"From heaven the Lord looks down and sees all mankind. He watches all who live on earth-He who forms the hearts of all." Psalms 33:13-15
Does this sound like a God who does not care? Does He, who sends us out to give His good news to every people group on earth, not love each one? Yes, this is the same God who sent His Son to die on the cross 2,000 years ago, rise from the dead, and ascend to the Father. What an awesome Savior! Certainly our efforts in the Great Commission cannot "pay" Him back, but they are what we can do to obey Him.

Pray that God will show you how He wants you to serve Him.

"Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the people of the world revere Him." Psalms 33:8
The Lord wept at Lazarus' tomb (John 11:35). He wept over Jerusalem (Luke 19:41). He suffered distress of spirit over men's hardness of heart (Mark 3:5). Do you think He is grieved today because "all the earth" does not fear Him, that "all the people of the world" do not yet revere Him? He bore sin's penalty-death on a cross-for each one! Think of it-the only Son of God being brutally beaten and killed a merciless death so that God the Father can show mercy! But millions do not know this. How that must grieve Him! Does it grieve us as well?

Pray that the Holy Spirit will make you more sensitive to His yearning for the unreached. Pray that He will help us to respond to His command to go and tell the good news of His salvation.

"I said, 'I will confess my transgressions to the Lord'-and You forgave the guilt of my sin." Psalms 32: 5b

As we prepare our hearts for Resurrection Sunday, let us think about why it was necessary for Him to be slain. We know that He has victory over death and the sole power to forgive sins because of His death and resurrection. Because of His sovereignty and mercy, He has both the power and the will to forgive sinful mankind. But what can others do that don't know of His saving power? Will it be enough on the Day of Judgment for them to call on the mercy of Buddha or the power of Shiva? Is it right for us to enjoy His forgiveness while others look for truth and righteousness in the wrong places?

Pray for the unreached nations to know that only Christ has power to forgive sins.
