Though the word "prosper" doesn't always refer to material goods, that is one aspect of prosperity. Jesus told us that we should seek first His Kingdom and righteousness, and He will provide all that we need. Notice how Livingstone managed to rise above materialism, despite the poverty in which he grew up. Note how he understood that material goods had little value compared with the things of God. Livingstone definitely heeded the Lord's instructions regarding wealth!
Pray that each of us will put wealth in it's proper place so that we too can rise above the materialism of our cultures and commit first to the things of God.
