praise & pray for Jin (KOR)
was set to meet Jin today but Father was pleased to change it to yesterday [many hours after meeting with Gang] again, what a beautiful privelege of sharing life & relationship with Jin - yet another beautiful piece of Divinely arranged orchestration :)
Jin was "once a believer" .. then turned to the world .. he'd like to get back into relationship with Father, but has doubts ... we prayed together & committed him to Father - The Father who waits for the prodigal to return .. :D
:D PRAISE! :D
:D the wonderful privelege of being able to point Jin away from religion & to relatonship!
:D His love is real!
:D He is a personal God who wants to relate to us not as fearful slaves but as beloved children & intimate friends!
*PRAY*
* cause this prodigal son in Jin to return to the Father, letting nothing hold him back from experiencing for Himself the awesome Affection of His unconditional Love!
* The Good Shepherd would find this precious lost soul in Jin & draw him into relationship with Himself! (Jin speaks the putrefying languge of religion - may Father graciously keep him from all such vanity & futility!
* The Lamb of God who was slain would receive the reward for His sufferings in every precious lost soul from the mission field He's brought here caught up in deception!
"You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power. for You created everything, and it is for your pleasure they exist and were created - Revelation 4:11
* give Jin open eyes to see Jesus, The Lover of his soul & ears to hear Jesus calling him by name, drawing him to Himself & a heart to respond to His Word in faith to pass from death to life!
"I can guarantee this truth: Those who listen to what I say and believe in the one who sent me will have eternal life. They won't be judged because they have already passed from death to life." - Jesus John 5:24
* God in His mercy would not let these precious Korean waste their lives giving glory to anyone/anything else but save them so they might bring pleasure to Him!
* keep disillusioning those with religious illusions of who God really is that they might know Him forwho He really is!
* have mercy on Jin, send him back 'home' an eternally-changed soul, to join the missionary force He's raising up there!
* give us grace to embrace these 'foreign strangers' & lovingly show them the way to the Fathers' love, not wasting a moment in our selfish precoccupations & distractions but redeeming the time - Judgment Day is coming soon!
(yes, i too easily give in to selfish indifference to the fate of lost souls too :-(
praise & pray for Gang (CHI)

pray for us & the unreached!!
"...grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, and sinners will turn back to you." Psalms 51:12b-13
Have you ever asked God to give you a willing spirit? Being willing to obey all that He tells us to do is an essential part of lordship. When someone says "yes" to missionary work, they are asking God to give them a willing spirit to go out and teach transgressors His ways so His kingdom will be extended. What an eternal privilege!
Pray for the Holy Spirit to give more of His children a willingness to teach unreached transgressors His ways. Pray that He will give you a greater will to serve Him this coming year.
"He who goes out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with him." Ps. 126:6
Whatever our ministry in the harvest field, there will be tears: tears of frustration or of grief. Barriers in cross-cultural seed-planting are particularly hard to break down. Barriers often include a new language, age-old traditions, spiritual blindness, and demonic opposition, as well as illiteracy and poverty. But the blindest eyes can recognize the sower's compassion, his helping hands, his thoughtful understanding. God's Word can shatter rocks and hardened clods of earth, enabling the seed to take root and begin to grow. The caring, the helping-and the weeping-often continue for many long years. First the sowing and the nurture, then the harvest and the joy! Then, the singing!
Pray faithfully for God's laborers in hard fields as they persevere in their work next year.
"Give thanks to the Lord, call upon His Name; make known among the nations what He has done." Ps. 105:1
If you want to know what God has done, read the Bible through! Next, reflect upon His creation surrounding you. Then look at history, and see His hand moving upon men and nations to fulfill His purposes. Read books and periodicals to marvel at those new things He is revealing to men from His treasures of wisdom. Finally, search your heart and meditate upon His work in you. You should find within yourself a threefold response to what you have seen and learned-the same threefold response the psalmist gave: gratitude, prayer, and a passion that these things be proclaimed to all. Do not be disobedient to the heavenly vision. Go and make Him known. Join His host of prayer warriors.
Praise Him without ceasing this coming year!

praise & pray for Trevor, Yoshi, Kha, Martin (QLD, VIET, CHI)
am i just imposing unreasonable expectations on myself, then indulging in beating myself up everytime i fail to meet them?
*sigh*
it could well be. :(
after our very final English Corner for the year (we watched 'The Nativity Story'
see www.newline.com/properties/nativitystorythe.html) i was hoping people would have Questions & maybe join us for a cheap dinner afterwards to have some significant interactions that might impact eternity.
but everyone just went their separate ways, so it was just me & brother Hugh for dinner. always good to spend time with a brother, maybe it's just my screwed up way of thinking that it's better to be with the lost ... while there's still time!
* pray what they saw in the movie would lead them to be found by Father who seeks & saves the lost!
after walking Hugh to his train station, i was wondering what should i do. (1) go home and get an early night, or
(2) go with Him to seek & save the lost?
i figured since i was out & there's plenty of time to rest in heaven [eternity!!] i may as well go for (2). i've already wasted enough of my life on the empty & the fleeting!!
i knew some of the English corner bunch would be at Southbank to watch the fireworks so i tried to miss call some of them to see if they'd be there [don't have free calls anymore - gave that phone away] .. after ~30mins, nobody called back so i walked through Southbank to see if i'd find anyone.
feeling a little tired anyway, i thought, "i might as well go home".
wouldn't you know it? just as i got on the bus home, one of the guys i'd miss called called me back!
so i pressed the bell to get off at the next stop, forgetting that the bus i was on didn't stop until a few stops away from my home. :
to go back to Southbank would be a hassle, extra trips & extra time.
oh well, souls are worth it!!
plus i had to use up my ten trip saver tickets anyway! [as of Jan 1 they'll be obsolete :]
found out later that if i'd chosen to be selfish & just gone home, i would've missed out on not 1, not 2, not 3 but 4 divine Appointments!
~SO~ much better to give up my will to follow His =D
anyway we got talking, Trevor's story was certainly a living example of AMAZING GRACE!

please rejoice with me & pray for me~!
see full article: www.://lifestream.org/LSBL.May01.html
While we are invited to make any request of God we like, the prayers that move God’s hand are those that grow out of our trust in who He is and what He is doing.
i'm longing to experience the depth of fellowship & relationship that the bible seems to hold out, like mentioned above, but for whatever reason i'm not experiencing it in any of the "meetings" i'm going to. maybe He's just teaching me to trust Him to satisfy my needs rather than looking to others to provide what ONLY Christ can. His way is always better!
:D PRAISE! :D
:D He does indeed satisfy!
:D it's not up to me to build this relationship, I can simply trust Him to build our relationship & provide fellowship with others!
* pray*
* take me right where i am and lead me into that friendship with Him that can fill every day with His presence.
* keep growing me to know, enjoy & understand who He is and what He is doing!
[if this means not having the 'distraction' of attending a Sunday morning meeting, i'd have wisdom to graciously 'dop out' & not needlessly offend people!
* connect me to people with His priorities! * He'd to teach me how to know him better and to recognize him through the normal course of daily life.
* in my struggles [to accept/live with & love myself] i'd look to Him for wisdom, His perspective on things to make sense out of the messes i keep making for myself!
* i'd be a leaf blown by the winds of His Spirit into all He has for me in '09!
* strength & energy for all the above -- still feeling abnormally tired & having to nap most days . . . :
lyrics of a song that sums up my hearts' cry:
Empty Me - Jeremy Camp
Holy Fire burn away, my desire for anything that is not of you and is of me. I want more of you and less of me. Holy Fire burn away, my desire for anything that is not of you and is of me. I want [all] of you and [nne]of me. Empty me, Empty me, yeah, Fill, won't you fill me, with you, with you, yeah
thanks~!! please tell me how i can best support you before His throne of Grace too!
if Father so leads you to be my regular prayer supporter, do check out this prayer blog every now & then :)
Looking forward to hearing from you how i can best support you in prayer & praises!!

pray for us & the unreached!!
Throughout the world today, prisons are full of criminals, political dissidents, and those imprisoned for religious convictions. Without Christ we are all prisoners to sin, under the sentence of death. Christ came to bring life to all who call upon His Name. But how can they call on His Name unless they have heard? Why should they be condemned to death, when there is a Savior waiting for them to call on His Name?
Pray today for those who are doubly imprisoned-both physically and spiritually. Pray for those attempting to bring light to these dark places.
"The Lord has made His salvation known and revealed His righteousness to the nations.... Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth." Ps. 98:2, 4
The psalmist was deeply aware that God's redemptive acts on Israel's behalf were also played out on a stage before the nations. Israel, called to be a kingdom of priests, had the privilege and responsibility of interpreting these acts to the surrounding peoples. We who have come to know Jesus as Savior and Lord have the same privilege and responsibility, made greater by our knowledge of the completeness of Christ's redemptive work on the cross. What a delight to declare His acts to the nations so that they may respond with joy to their Master!
Pray that the Father will open our lips to tell others of His salvation and righteousness.
"The Word became flesh and lived for a while among us." Jn. 1:14
As we recall Jesus' birth this Christmas Day, we see Almighty God crossing the greatest barriers, which separated Him from man. And in God's initiative to live among us we see the missionary dynamic necessary to reach unreached people groups. Jesus - the missionary Word of God - "became flesh" so that 33 years later He might die and decisively deal with the barrier of sin. The same Word which had created man became man, took on human flesh, and "lived for a while among us." It is now our task to cross other barriers (culture, language, religion) to the unreached peoples and proclaim the "Word" in person!
Pray that as the Father sent His Son, that He will now send us.
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." Jn. 1:1
God is a missionary God who carries within His heart the desire to communicate His "Word." Not only is He the great Creator, He is also the great Communicator. Amid this week's preparations for Christmas, let's reverently recall the great passages in Scripture, which anticipate and describe the birth of Jesus Christ. Then, let's allow the drama of the great event to give focus to our prayers for the unreached peoples. Christmas is the most "missionary" time of the year!
Pray that God will give us a new zeal to make Him known among the unreached peoples this Christmas season.
"There were shepherds living out in the fields nearby.... An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them." Luke 2:8
Again we can see God's focus on the insignificant and weak people of society. God determined to first send His angels to these humble shepherds in the fields rather than to reveal His glory to the proud religious leaders in the Temple. How quickly those shepherds hurried to Bethlehem to see Christ the Lord! Thousands of peoples today are equally eager to respond to the Good News. Will we give them the chance to hear?
Pray that the Father will help us to expect great things from Him as we attempt great things for Him! Pray that we will never see anyone as being to insignificant to hear the gospel.

for me~!
.. as i was reading i went downstairs to see Isabelle [my niece, we ike to call her Bell-Bell] sleeping on my mother's shoulder. what a beautiful picture of what i see Father trying to say to me through this book -- "my beautiful, precious child, REST in Me. REST in my love for you. REST in all I am - and I am for you! REST in all i've done to show you this beyond any shadow of a doubt!"
God doesn’t need us to serve Him as a means to attain His love or affection. He wants us serving Him out of the love and affection He already holds in His heart for us. If you have never tasted that reality, you cannot imagine the freedom that is yours.
-- He Loves Me! p66
"Once God is known as Father all methods to attain to security, prosperity and assurance in the world are exposed as useless enslavement. If one knows God as Father then there is security about everything."
David Boan and John Yates in an unpublished manuscript
:D PRAISE! :D
:D He can take me by the hand and teach me just how much i am loved so that i no longer have to pursue my own way and protect myself in ways that only seem to backfire, hurting me and others around me!
:D every failure He's let me have is just a doorway to learn to trust Him who is MCH BIGGER than ALL MY FAILURES!!
:D Father is able to work in me and through me despite what i lack!
:D Father enjoys taking fearful slaves to sin and teaching them how to live as beloved sons and daughters.
:D He knows how to peel off layers of selfishness and shame to shape his image in us!
* pray*
* i'd let go of my fears and let His love capture my heart as my sole motivation for following after Him.
* it'd truly sink in that there is nothing i can do to make him love me any more today, and nothing i can do that will make him love me any less. He just loves me!
* He'd teach me how true these realities are so i can live in freedom!
* i'd Realize the only way to grow in trust is to grow in the knowledge of His love.
* rearrange my thinking and help me understand His love for me goes far beyond any gift i can bring Him!
* teach me how to live every day and through every circumstance trusting that He loves me!
* He'd teach me how to grow in trust and how to fix your hope on Him in a way that runs deeper than my circumstances or feelings.
*-*-*-*-*- He'd continue to show me:
* who He really is.
* how i live less-loved.
* the depth of his love to me and in doing so teach me how to trust Him more!
* How i'm trying to earn His favor :
* how much He takes delight in me as a loving Father, to see Him exalting and dancing with joy over me! (Zephaniah 43:17)
* where wedges of mistrust have been inserted between Him and i, Where i find myself doubting His love for me or His intentions towards me.
* how to embrace a relationship with Him His way and not my own way.
* how appeasement-based thinking distorts myrelationship with Him and s o free me from it so i can participate in what He wants to do in me!
"Do you see God’s wrath directed at sin, or directed at you? It is one thing to say God loves the sinner and hates the sin, but sometimes we feel that God is out to get us as well. Wherever you see that in your thinking, ask God to help you change your mind and see things the way he does. He wants you to know that everything he has done in your life is to bring you into the fullness of his love. Where you don’t understand that, ask him to show you."
-- at this point i realised i have had a MEGA identity crisis for most of my "christian" life where i thought sin & i were one and the same :( how sad when He plainly says "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. Old things have disappeared, and-look!-all things have become new!" -- 2 Cor 5:17
Spend a few moments thinking where you are still trying to earn points with a God who's no longer keeping score. do you keep scrore of your failures? Minutes in prayer? Number of converts? If you find yourself doing those things, ask God to help you receive what he has already given you. Stop doing anything that seeks to earn his love and learn to do what you do simply because you already have his love. This is quite a change of mind that only God’s Spirit can produce.
* ask God to draw you closer to him so that your love for him will produce a desire to be like him. Also, look for ways that you put righteousness before relationship, thinking that your performance makes you more acceptable to God. Ask him to teach you what it means to trust him in the pressing details of your life right now.
*
Trusting the Father’s love for you simply means that every day, in every circumstance you can rest assured God knows who you are, cares more deeply about you than you do yourself and is capable of working out his glory in you.
only by facing my own inadequacies and the foolishness of my own desires can I really experience the glory of God’s kingdom. We don’t come easily to those moments, but when we finally give up trying to save ourselves, that’s where we taste of his immeasurable glory.
p159
Where are you being stretched to the end of your rope? Where is God exposing the weaknesses of your own strength and the foolishness of your best wisdom? Give up the idea that your failures have brought you to this moment - for it is an incredible work of God calling you to trust him more than you have in the past. Ask God to teach you how to give up self-sufficiency and learn to trust him. Then do whatever it is that trusting God’s love would lead you to do and learn to ignore the ravings of your anxieties and fears.
Ask God how shame-based behaviors are manifesting themselves in your relationship with him. Look for him to identify where boasting, blaming, gossip, self-pity, and worrying about what others think are causing you to live to shame instead of living to him. Also ask him to reveal to you all the places where covering up for shame hurts your relationships with others. Ask God to draw you close enough to him so that you will no longer need to live in bondage to shame.
the BEST gift of all: learning to live in Father's Affection!!
pray for us & the unreached!!
With just one week before Christmas, we pause to reflect upon the birth of our Savior. How can a child born in a manger express the nature of God's rule? In this baby we can see the personal, reconciling work of God the Father. That which is "everlasting" has stepped into time and history. That which is beyond humanity has personally proclaimed the love of the "Father" for the whole world. The "peace" which eludes the grasp of warring empires can now be established by the presence of this "Prince." This little baby proclaims in His very person the plan and purpose of a missionary God.
Thank the Father for bringing peace to our own hearts and relationships. Pray that He will honor His Name as we in turn serve as ministers of reconciliation among the nations.
"He was in the world, and though the world was made through Him, the world did not recognize Him." John 1:10
What sad words! Those He loved did not welcome him who loved mankind so much. Today how easy it is to say, "The unreached peoples do not want us. Let's go to someone who does." It is also easy to become critical and discouraged when missionaries who are trying to show that they love the unreached peoples are not welcomed with open arms. Yet our missionary God did not wait for us to desire Him. He came incarnate in Jesus to reveal His love in a way we could understand, in a way that wooed us to Himself.
Pray that the Lord will plant in our hearts His love for lost peoples.
"The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world." John 1:9
Here John applies Old Testament prophecy to Jesus. In Isaiah 42:6 we read, "I will make you to be a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles." Isaiah 60:1-2 declares, "Arise, shine, for your light has come.... darkness shall cover the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples; but the Lord will rise upon you.... the nations shall come to your light." The incarnation of Jesus was a burst of light that continues to radiate to the nations today.
Pray that we will stand on the truth of these prophecies for the sake of those peoples who still live in deep spiritual darkness.

thoughts ...
hungry for God this morning i was about to go through my usual morning routine of digging into His Word but i couldn't find my bible :
felt like Father was saying to me "can we have relationship that doesn't revolve around a book?"
"sure thing!" was my reply.
don't get me wrong, i'm not about to set out on a heresy-trip, but if God is a Living Person, surely we can relate to Him as a Living Person & not bind our interaction with Him entirely to ritualistically reading His Letter & saying the same old prayers over & over again!
i'm tired of the box organised religion has put God in as a being we can only relate to based on a list of "do's & dont's" . . .
i, for one, have failed, am failing & will always fail to do what i "should" & not do what i "shouldn't".
yet again i despair of myself & confess with Paul that "I know that nothing good lives in me; that is, nothing good lives in my corrupt nature. Although I have the desire to do what is right, I don't do it." Romans 7:18
all this confirms that i'm still a man in need of a Saviour!
HOORAY!! THE SAVIOUR HAS COME - His Name is Emmanuel - 'God with us!"
even at my worst, The One I've offended is NOW the safest One to be with because He's saved Me!
so my relationship with Father is NOW no longer about my performance or lack of it!
O, how I need to continually rest in His provision for me, being ever careful not to abuse it as a license for sin but as the Greatest Motivator to live loved & love!
. . . the blessing of being disabled & having low energy is because it reduces what i can do, it de-clutters my life so i can focus more on Him :) but O, how easy it is to clutter life with other "things' that distract me from Him!
would you please pray for me - stay focussed on RELATIONSHIP with Him [not religion!] & to make the most of every moment, walking with Father in This Great Adventure called "LIFE" & stop falling back into religious thinking / living. Aeigh, still a recovering Pharisee.. =(
some lyrics He put on mind to share: Mind's Eye – DC Talk
You know what I'm going through
I know that it's true
Cause you've stood in my shoes
Desire's inside of me
But, it's hard to believe
In what you cannot see
Can you catch the wind?
See a breeze?
It's presence is revealed by the leaves on a tree
An image of my faith in the unseen
In my mind's eye
I see Your face
You smile
As You show me grace
In my mind's eye
You take my hand
We walk through foreign lands
The foreign lands of life
In my mind
I'm where I belong
As I rest in Your arms
And like a child I hold on to you
In my moment of truth
We can ride the storm
Endure the pain
You comfort me in my hurricane
And I'll never be alone again
Can you catch the wind?
Can you see the breeze?
In my mind I can see Your face
Love pours down in a shower of grace
Life is a gift that You choose to give
And I believe that we eternally live
Faith is the evidence of things unseen
People tell me that You're just a dream
But they don't know you the way that I do
You're the one I live to pursue

pray for us & the unreached!!
We in the Western world often consider darkness to be merely the absence of light. The Bible calls it evil and says it is an aggressive force. Nevertheless, John rejoices that this "darkness has not overpowered the light which shines in Jesus." It was this darkness that caused most of the Jews not to understand the fact that the Messiah truly had come. But they also didn't understand that Jesus meant to include the Gentiles in His love and blessing.
Lord, we pray that Your church, including our congregations, may prevail against spiritual forces intent on obscuring believers' from understanding Your missionary heart.
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." John 1:1
In this opening statement of John's gospel we catch a glimpse of one of the essential characteristics of God: He is a missionary God who carries within His heart the desire to communicate His Word. Not only is He the Creator of mankind, but He is the Communicator to mankind. This communication was culminated at the birth of Jesus Christ when "the Word became flesh," and John highlights this "one solitary life" from His early days of ministry to His resurrection on Easter morning. Christ's life is our pattern of how we are to effectively communicate God's love to the ends of the earth.
Thank the Father for revealing Himself. Pray that we will trust in His grace as we, too, walk among the needy peoples.
"Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people." Luke 2:10
The word "people" here does not refer to the nations or the Gentiles. But it does refer to all elements of Jewish society in the Holy Land of that day. The good news was not for just one segment of the nation of Israel. The Pharisees thought the Messiah would reveal Himself primarily to them and their peers. Others thought He would be coming principally for their benefit. But the announcement of Christ's birth was not made at the local synagogue, but to some lowly shepherds in a field. Jesus would later live and minister among sinners, publicans, and prostitutes, groups who were neglected by the religious people of the day.
Pray that the Lord will stir our hearts with the reminder that His good news is for all peoples.
"He has raised up a horn of salvation for us...to remember His holy covenant, the oath He swore to our father Abraham." Luke 1:69-73
Zechariah's prophecy was pointing to a work God was doing in fulfillment of His promise to Abraham, that through him and his descendants (including the Lord Jesus) all nations on earth would be blessed. By faith in Jesus we have received both the blessing and the obligation to bless others. God's intent and purpose in fulfilling His oath to Abraham is that some from every people group, including Buddhists, Muslims, and Hindus, would be able to share in the blessings of redemption.
Pray that we won't want to settle for anything less than His highest and best. Pray that we will press forward in holiness and commitment to His mission.

please rejoice with me & pray for me~!!
precious brothers & sisters, do rejoice with me!! i'd truly value your prayers as we journey on toward HIM :)
definitely not easy but ever exciting =) sorry if this mail doesn't really 'fill you in' on what's been going on in his precious life He's given me, if you want to know more just ask~!
my life's an open book ;)
health-wise, still feeling lethargic : had my 3rd possible epilepsy in my sleep (?) in as many months -- see flashing thing in left visual field, feel really scared, calling out 'help me, Lord Jesus!" several times, then went back to sleep ;)
was at a friends' wedding recently.. although it reinforced my desire to be single, it did make me question again whether my stubborn desire to be single was really just an excuse for being too lazy / selfish to unite my life with another.
may God examine & reveal my all-too-deceptive heart to me!
or maybe it's just my being under a crushing sense of shame to believe there can be anyone out there who can know me for me & still want to be with me? quite honestly, knowing the things about myself that i do, i don't even want to be around me many times!
aaahh.. i had many other thoughts but was too late to put them on the blog :
AN OPEN INVITE TO ALL: if you care about me & love me, please tell me anytime you see something wrong in my life! where do you see faults in my life / character? What areas would you like to see me grow & change by God’s grace?” -- all part of me obeying 1 Tim 4:16 which is too easy to neglect with such dire consequences!!
:D rejoice with me! :D
:D Jesus is enough! to satisfy every want & every need!
:D making clouds [epecially on hot summer days!]
:D refreshingly cool afternoon breezes!
:D sweat glands that work to combine with refreshingly cool afternoon breezes after a swelteringly hot day!
:D the ugliness in every season that highlights the beauty of every season!
:D satisfying my desire with good things!!
:D giving me a free ticket to the casting crowns concert!
[are you going / know anyone else who is so we can go together? i suppose i can always walk there ... ;) ]
*PRAY*
* i'd faithfully proclaim the message He's give to us whether people listen or not!
* i'd stop choosing the 'open & receptive' ppl to work with.. God's way isn't always the easy way, in fact more often than not it's the hard way! .. such is His great love!
* His relationship with me would be more real to me than any other relationship!
* Jesus would be enough for me!
* Jesus would be all i want!
* Jesus would be all i need!
* He'd deliver me from "things" and show me His Son!* He'd keep pruning from my life all that hinders my fruitfulness for Him!
* i'd trust HIm to fill my mind & clean out all the filthy garbage i've fed it with over the years - He is stronger & better!
thanks~!! please tell me how i can best support you before His throne of Grace too!

pray for the unreached!!
Mary praised God for giving her this baby, whom she recognized as a fulfillment of God's covenant with Abraham. Jesus, son of David and son of Abraham, is the fulfillment and the foundation of God's heart desire to bestow blessing after blessing. Though God had seen Israel stray far from obeying Him, He once again in great mercy and compassion, was drawing the nation back to Himself because of His covenant with Abraham. And this was not only for Israel's sake, but also for all nations that were to be blessed through Abraham. The people of God in every age are confronted with a choice: will we give or hoard what we've freely received?
Pray that we will use the blessings of the Lord to bless the nations.
"The Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David, and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever; His kingdom will never end." Luke 1:32, 33
What would you think if an angel told you what your child would become? It happened to Mary. These words are fulfillment of Nathan's prophecy to King David that his dynasty would rule forever and also a fulfillment of the promise given to Abraham that kings would come from his lineage. And this son of David was surely one through whom the everlasting covenant established with Abraham would bring blessing to all nations.
Pray that the Lord will rule more fully over us that we might better declare His praise to the nations who do not know His great Name.
"...and he lived in a town called Nazareth. So was fulfilled what was said through the prophets: 'He will be called a Nazarene." Matt. 2:28
Nazareth in Galilee was considered by the Jews to be the armpit of Israel. It was on the very edge of this nation, so the people had frequent dealings with "unclean" Gentiles from bordering areas. Yet because it was located so close to the Gentile peoples, and because it was on the crossroads where many people traveled, Jesus could reach many at a time when travel was rare. Do you live in a place that has low status? Does that mean that God can't use you or your local church to reach the nations in your own back yard?
Pray that God will show you how to reach the nations, no matter where you live.
"When King Herod heard this he was disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him." Matt. 2:3
What?? It's understandable that the power-mad Herod would not want the Messiah to be born. He knew that this was the beginning of the end for him. But what about the people of Jerusalem? These are supposed to be God's children! Weren't there many among them who were serious about their relationship with the God they worshipped at the Temple? How could it be that the Jewish people can be more spiritually dull than Gentile astrologers? Likewise, could we become spiritually dull during this Christmas season, as we focus on Christmas shopping and church events rather than the babe of Bethlehem?
Pray that we will have spiritual hunger for Jesus, and not settle for the materialism our culture offers this Christmas season.
"The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call Him Immanuel, which means, 'God with us.'" Matt 1:23
Throughout the Gospel of Matthew, the author constantly refers to the fulfilled prophesies of Jesus. One of them is that He will be "God with us." Who is "us" in this case? It's very possible that the Jews considered "us" to be the Jews of Israel. But God had a much bigger plan. "Us" means all the nations of the world! Are your plans as big as God's?
Pray that our plans will be as big as the God who sent His Son to Israel 2,000 years ago.
"From that time on Jesus began to preach. 'Repent, for the kingdom of God is near." Matt. 4:17
Pray that the Peoples of Israel Accept Their Messiah!
This Christmas season, we need to begin by remembering the purpose and the message of the One who was born in Bethlehem. This is the headline, so to speak, of Jesus' message to the Jews. When we repent, we turn from our old ways, and adopt the ways God has for us. It is a lifelong process, one which makes the Christian walk an adventure in learning and obeying. One of the sins we need to repent of is that of neglecting those without the gospel. Is there anything you need to repent of in this area?

follow up Re: for me~!
Today's meditation is taken from:
The Call of the Cross
by Chip Brogden http://www.theschoolofchrist.org/articles/cross_call.html <-- HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
"Without Me you can do nothing" (John 15:5).
Know that Christ is not here to help you become a better person, but to make you so weak in yourself and so sick of your own way that you can do nothing but trust in Him to do what you at last realize you cannot do. It does not matter if that something "we cannot do" is save ourselves, control our temper, get along with others, raise our children, or overcome a lustful habit. The course is the same. After many attempts and failures we at last realize we cannot, so we throw ourselves on the mercy of God and trust Him to do what we cannot do.

praise & pray for Manjit (PUN)
i just gave him a friendly smile & [hesitantly!] moved across to sit next to him . . . i asked him where he's from & the conversation just flowed...
amazing how far a little friendliness can go!
he's been here 4 (?) months but says he still has no [non-Indian] friends :( i was the first non-Indian to approach him during his stay in Aus . . . sadly, he's the norm rather than the exception. :(
i see in these 'foreign strangers' such a ripe harvest field of souls , just like our Lord said in
"
"The harvest is large, but the workers are few.
So ask the Lord who gives this harvest to send workers to harvest his crops." Matthew 9:37-38
near the end of our short exchange, he wished me a happy Christmas. i asked him if he knew why we celebrated Christmas. he said he didn't know, which sent me floundering around my messed up bag looking for a Christmas tract .. but i had none on me. we swapped phone numbers, i told him we'd have to meet so he can find out why - Christmas is so important!
i left him with a gospel tract i had on me
[not so explicitly about Christmas but still the gospel nevertheless!]
it was good to have a friendly encounter with him, left e wondering why i hesitate as long as i do when i get these promptings to talk to people :[
[why not order some for the lost souls He'll bring across your path?! go to: http://wayofthemaster.c2.ixwebhosting.com/catalog
:D rejoice with me! :D
:D He's bringing precious souls from the mission field here - COME ON BROTHERS & SISTERS!! OPPORTUNITIES ABOUND TO REACH THEM WITH THE NEWS OF ETERNAL LIFE -- LET'S GET ON WITH SEEKING & SAVING THE LOST WHILE THERE'S STILL TIME!!
:D anywhere we go can be used in Divine Appointments!
*PRAY*
* The Lamb of God who was slain would receive the reward for His sufferings in every precious lost soul from the mission field He's brought here caught up in deception!
"You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power. for You created everything, and it is for your pleasure they exist and were created - Revelation 4:11
* give Manjit open eyes to see Jesus, The Lover of his soul & ears to hear Jesus calling him by name, drawing him to Himself & a heart to respond to His Word in faith to pass from death to life!
I can guarantee this truth: Those who listen to what I say and believe in the one who sent me will have eternal life. They won't be judged because they have already passed from death to life. - Jesus John 5:24
* God in His mercy would not let these precious Punjabis waste their lives giving glory to anyone/anything else but save them so they might bring pleasure to Him!
* have mercy on them, send them back 'home' eternally-changed souls, to join the missionary force He's raising up there!
* give us grace to embrace these 'foreign strangers' & lovingly show them the way to the Fathers' love, not wasting a moment in our selfish precoccupations & distractions but redeeming the time - Judgment Day is coming soon! (yes, i too easily give in to selfish indifference to the fate of lost souls too :-( )

pray for the unreached!!
Psalms 119: 162 "I rejoice in Your promise like one who finds great spoil."
Grab a piece of paper and write down a list of God's promises. He has given us many precious promises, all of which are far great than "great spoil." He has given us an abundant life in the here and now, and the blessings of forgiveness and eternal fellowship with Him. What delightful promises for us to enjoy! To those who don't know Him, however, He offers eternal separation, without forgiveness. Are we willing to take His promises to those who don't know of them?
Pray for His promises to reach the nations we pray for this month. Pray that His promises will be understood by the nations as far greater than any "spoil" this world has to offer.
Can you imagine that? Your prayers are like a fragrant offering to the Lord! This is our blessing to the Almighty Creator! No matter how young or old you are, no matter how rich or poor you may be, your prayers are a sweet fragrance to the King of the Universe. When the time is right, He will pour this sweet incense over the nations, and some of them will turn to Him. If that doesn't motivate you to pray, nothing will!
Pray that we may remember what our prayers are to Him. Pray with new confidence.
"Turn my heart toward Your statutes and not toward selfish gain. Turn my eyes away from worthless things…" Psalms 119: 36-37
As a follower of Christ, you know that His kingdom is all that really matters. Most people settle for far less than an eternal relationship with the One Who Gives Life. Secularists settle for selfish gain that will last for their lifetime, and if we are not careful, we can easily do the same. The unreached peoples settle for worshipping what is far less than the Lord of Lords. But we know that eternity is at stake here. Eternity! That gives us good reason to pray for the lost.
Pray that the nations will seek out His statutes and eternal fellowship with Christ instead of selfish gain and other worthless things.
"Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in Your law." Psalms 119: 18
Have you ever prayed for your eyes to be opened to know more of His ways? Your eyes have been opened to a degree, since you have accepted His lordship, yet we all have so much more to learn of Him and from Him! However, has it occurred to you that you can also pray for the eyes of the unreached people groups to be opened so that they can see wonderful things in His Word? This is one of our best things that you can pray for the nations!
As you intercede for the nations today, pray that they will see wonderful things in His Word.
Pray that the Lord will remove barriers to the lost having access to His Word.
