praise & pray for (homeless people!

And if someone takes unfair advantage of you, use the occasion to practice the servant life.
No more tit-for-tat stuff. Live generously.
"You're familiar with the old written law, 'Love your friend,' and its unwritten companion, 'Hate your enemy.'
I'm challenging that. I'm telling you to love your enemies. Let them bring out the best in you, not the worst. When someone gives you a hard time, respond with the energies of prayer,
for then you are working out of your true selves, your God-created selves. This is what God does. He gives his best--the sun to warm and the rain to nourish--to everyone, regardless: the good and bad, the nice and nasty.
If all you do is love the lovable, do you expect a bonus? Anybody can do that.
If you simply say hello to those who greet you, do you expect a medal? Any run-of-the-mill sinner does that.
"In a word, what I'm saying is, Grow up. You're kingdom subjects. Now live like it. Live out your God-created identity. Live generously and graciously toward others, the way God lives toward you.
Mat 5:41-48 (MSG)

. . . been thinking about Jesus' words .. He brings plenty of opportunity to put it into action!

yup, yet again!![after my post on Danny (04/2) it's uncanny, the way i seem to almost "attract" needy strangers asking for money. this adds to the many such incidents i've encountered . . .
- walking with some friends over Victoria Bridge when we cam acoss Aaron, he gave his brief sob story, i could feel my flesh rising in me, telling me to just pass him by, ignoring him as another possible crook ... but in light of Jesus' Words above, to follow my natural inclinations . .. i could just hear Jesus say "why do you call Me Lord, Lord, and do not do what I say?"

i guess this was the fruit of the work Fathers' been doing in my heart of late . . . :D

Aaron, is but one of the many precious souls who roam our cities with no place to call 'home', one whom Jesus came for yet one whom the "church" often ignores either actively or passively :(
i didn't do anything great with / for Aaron, he was just hungry so i went with him & bought him some food.
would've loved to have talked with him longer but he said he had to go & meet some friends ...
didn't get to share the gospel with him, not even pass him a gospel tact, i'm learning if Father doesn't lead me that way, then i don't need to try & make things happen - He's big enough!
pray for Father to have mercy on Him & reveal Himself to Aaron & his family & draw them into His love!
ask Father to keep finding & aving lost souls like Aaron that they would find a place to call 'home' in His many-roomed mansions in Heaven!
- should i stop being generous to strangers asking for money? share your widom/ advice! experience! leave a comment!
