Lack of Knowledge
Hosea 4:6 is often quoted out of context. It says, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge." That's where the verse is often ended. But the Bible gives us details as to the lack of knowledge. We are told in the same verse " ... Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children." When the Law of God is rejected, it leaves us without the knowledge of sin. Paul said, "I had not known sin, but by the law."(Romans 7:7) And if there is no knowledge of sin, we understandably see no need to repent. And Jesus warned that unless you repent, you will likewise perish.(See Luke 13:3) So, make sure you do what Jesus did.
