"It is not for you to know the times or dates…. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses…to the ends of the earth." - Acts 1:7, 8
Here Jesus answered the question, "Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?" (v. 6). He said that the times and the dates for His return are known only by the Father. Two things we do know, however. We will receive the power of the Holy Spirit, and by that power we will be His witnesses, beginning where we are and moving out to the ends of the earth. Let us yield ourselves fully to this commission, empowered by His Spirit until men and women from every nation acknowledge Jesus as Lord. Then His Kingdom will come with fullness and glory.
pray: Father, move in us by the power of Your Holy Spirit to give witness to Your glory and grace.
