met Harish in front of his restuarant walking home after walking someone home . . . i wasn't having so great a day in terms of sharing The Good News, but decided to stop & talk with him anyway :) shared a 'Test your reading skills' tract with him, he was very receptive, he hadn't heard This Good News before & found it to be truly good News in the end! would've LOVED to have talked more but he had to go back in & help .. might drop in again late one Saturday/ Sunday Night to his restaurant! :)

in light of the 2 RICE events coming up, [see www.ricebrisbane.org] I've been asked by the teens group leaders @ my church if I could possibly help give some training for the teens in sharing the gospel.
Dunno why they picked me - might be cos I started our evangelism group in the summer holidays - REALLY NEED YOUR PRAYERS FOR US ALL~!!
PRAYERS ARE ESSENTIAL!!

:D He loves these teens enough to use my "wasted" youth of blundering evangelistic efforts to prevent them from wasting their youth like i did!
:D seeking & saving the lost is His awesome work, and He invites us to get in on the action too! -- what greater joy could there be than to lead a lost sinner to The Saviour & cause a Huge Party in Heaven?!
:D think of the multiplied joy that could be as these teens learn to share their faith Biblically, effectively, the Way Jesus Did!
*PRAY!*
* Wisdom & Revelation as to how i can best train them to Seek & Save the lost, Jesus-style!
* ignite His Love for the lost in our hearts that'd burn into an all-consuming Passion for His Preeminence to be manifested in all things!
* Raise up His army of laborers for the ripe harvest all around us, that none be lost due to our apathy / disobedience!
* much help in conducting these training sessions, having never done them before!
* attention spans & receptivity for the teens to not only listen for the whole sessions but also to PUT IT INTO PRACTICE!

Any other tips/ advice /wisdom you have for working with teens would be great, as I've never done this before!!

tip: keeping gospel tracts in your shirt pocket makes for gospel opportunities - i had a 'test your reading skills' [pictured] in my shirt pocket, which Akiko saw & asked about [thank you God!!] - - passed it to her then went through it with her :)
even though it ate into her work time, matters of eternal significance must take priority!!

RICE (RICE Inter-Church Evangelism) is a fun and exciting event held over two consecutive weekends, consisting of RICE Big Day Out and RICE Rally. These events are organised by the youth leaders of different Brisbane churches to create an opportunity for high schoolers to evangelise (share their faith) with their friends. It represents a collection of churches across Brisbane working together, united in a common goal of bringing the gospel to the youth of our city.The primary focus of RICE is to see the youth of Brisbane affected and changed by the message of Jesus Christ and the salvation only He can bring through the cross. The aim is for this to be achieved through gathering the teens of Brisbane to an event where they can hear the gospel faithfully preached by some of the best speakers available. So are you ready, Brisbane? If you’ve been invited – don’t miss out! It could really change your life...

pray!! (because prayer works!) for:

* The leaders (they'll unite with leaders from other churches as One Body under One Christ to see God's gospel spread faithfully to the youth of Brisbane)

* The churches (they'll support this event by also praying)

* The speakers (they'll preach faithfully and effectively to the teens)

* The teens (they'll invite their friends and be challenged by the gospel and respond in the way God wants us all to - by devoting our life to Him!)

- the teens at TBC (Toowong Baptist Church) , although small, they're eager to hear the Word and in great need to meet strong brothers and sisters in Christ who can support them as they grow up.

* Please pray that they (and their parents) will see the importance of RICE and be inspired & encouraged to come along and hear the gospel.- Please pray specifically for the non-christians that will be coming along

* we as leaders will be able to pay particular attention to these.

* the followup team that God will speak through them and use them as tools for evangelising one-on one.-

* the leaders- I know that many are pretty stressed out at the moment... as leaders generally do :P they'll remain close to God's word in everything they do and that we will never lose focus of the very essence of RICE and the reason we do what we do!-

* for TBC youth ministry- At the moment, we don't really have a youth group... please pray that after RICE we will be able to continue to build up our youth ministry and if God is willing, we may be able to start one in the near future. :D

wow.. could be fruit from eng corner camp - gotto know him @ camp, he shared he was 'lost' last Thurs, started going through the gospel with him using an IQ test tract [pictured] but only got through the bad news part before being interrupted ;) so made a lunch appointment with him .. shared the gospel with him over coffee afterwards!

* i'd hold onto, avail myself to & never let go of the promises of God come what may!

Chapters five and six of Acts yield several indications that the apostles were obedient to the Lord's command to be His witnesses in Jerusalem. The number of disciples was quickly getting very large (6:1, 6:7)! But what about the rest of the Lord's command? Had He not said they should go beyond Jerusalem? Yes! How easy it is to become absorbed in issues close to home and thereby forget the needs of other peoples in other places.

pray: Father, thank You for all You've done in our homes and churches through the witness of our spiritual fathers. Keep us from preoccupation with these blessings, and use us to bring blessings to the whole world.

God has promised to provide every need for those who trust and serve Him, but ministers often carry a heavy burden trying to provide for themselves and their families. Pray: Lord Jesus, Your are the God of all, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love You and keep your commandments. Every good and perfect gift comes to us from Your hand. Father, I bring Your servants before Your throne of grace, and I ask for Your full, complete and abundant provision for their family. You have promised that if we seek Your kingdom first, You would provide everything else we need. Your servants are seeking Your kingdom first, so I agree with You and Your Word, that they would have an abundance of provision so that they could freely share with others. Release them Lord from financial concerns that would distract them from the ministry You have called them to. And Lord, I ask for a special financial blessing this week that will encourage Your servants's hearts.

on the bus into the city, Neela sat next to me with her 5-month old son [his name means 'conquer' in Singhalese] in a stroller. we got chatting, and really couldn't afford to waste precious time on superficial banter, so i quickly swung into matters of eternity (knowing more than likely she would get off the bus before too long). she had never thought about where she would go after this life was over. i confronted her with death's imminency that she [buddhist] can know for sure where she's going, though her buddhist religion wouldgive her no such assurance. not enough time to delve fully into the gospel before her stop arrived, but THANK GOD FOR GOSPEL TRACTS!!
