praise & pray for Colt [KOR]

had lunch with Colt  yesterday - posted on him last week [23/10] he'll be leaving  Brisbane soon!

after enjoying a cheapskate lunch ($6.50 for the 2 of us!) i asked him if he'd ever understood The Good News. he hadn't. :(

after going through the commandments, [which he was guilty of breaking all] i got to the Qn of 'when God judges you, will you be innocent or guilty?" . . . and he replied "innocent" :|

he has some weird idea that so long as he realises what he did was wrong, he'll be innocent before God . .. ??!!


just his thoughts. he admitted to not being sure why he believed that [could've just been language difficulty], unsure whether it was true or not ..

has some bizarre beliefs about heaven & hell.

since he couldn't be convinced of his guilt before a Perfect & Just God, i didn't move onto sharing the Good news .. is that considered "throwing pearls before pigs?"

i left the time urging him to seek out The Truth found in Jesus Christ, to go to The Bible. he was thankful for our time together :)

a lost soul needing to be found & rescued by The Good Shepherd!:D PRAISE! :D

* Holy Spirit would bring conviction of sin to Colt's heart, that he would flee to The Only Saviour before it's too late!


* open Colt's  blind eyes to see Jesus!

woohoo we're hoing on a daytrip to trip to Mount Glorious, part of Brisbane Forest Park & Wivenhoe Dam  this Saturday (October 31) =)

Choice is a great privilege-and a fearful responsibility. The greatest choice any individual or group will ever make is which god it will serve. In days in which personal freedom is exalted over all virtues, the call to serve another sounds like foolishness. Yet even when carnal men think themselves most free, they find themselves in bondage to lust, greed or materialism. Scripture reminds us that God has created people for Himself, to love and serve Him. If we reject God and worship someone or something else, bondage and idolatry results. When we serve God wholeheartedly, we experience spiritual freedom.

Pray that the hearts of the Burmese people in Bangladesh will be turned to serving the living God and His son, Jesus Christ. Pray that they will destroy their Buddhist idols and embrace Him.




At first, Joshua's response to the defeat at Ai predictably focused on the shame and reproach it brought to Israel. Then Joshua realized that the defeat would encourage the peoples of Canaan to despise Israel's God as well. Are we, as God's people, aware of the impact of our sin and disobedience on the nations of the earth today? Are we concerned about the scorn our spiritual weakness brings on the name of our God? Are we concerned enough to repent, confess our sin, and seek holiness?

Pray that we will bring glory, not shame to His great Name, so that unreached peoples STILL WAITING TO HEAR THE NAME OF JESUS! will be drawn to Him.

Madel was the the optus customer service rep i spoke to about blocking my service [the phone i lost yesyterday!] all went well, then at the end she asked "is there anything else i could do for you today?"



i told her that i had an important message to share with her, referring her to www.fathersloveletter.com which is translated to many languages which is perfect as most customer service reps i talk to are from all different parts of the world!

i wonder how many lost souls Christians speak to, yet we just let the opportunity slide without directing them to Jesus in some way?!

i was _sooo_ distracted today .. from the start, i dropped one of my phones (the one i usually use for international students who can call me for free on that number] .. i kept thinking about how could i do this yet *again* :[~~
. . . where could it possibly have dropped..

so i wasn't really focussed at the prayer meeting this morning .. Father graciously lifted my downcast head to see He was in control, He'll take care of it ;)

actually a week ago He povided me with a SIM card that'll be handy to call international students for free!
... maybe Father knew in advance i'd lose that phone! :P
... even though i stored lots & lots of reminders in that phone :S
 so for now i'm using other old old phones that've been out of action for ages ..
may His will be done with that phone i lost. :|

so went out for a walk on a simply divinely beautiful afternoon, calling my lost phone [silly -- i left it on vibrate mode :S] trying to retrace my steps, but all in vain. :(

yesterday i read an email from Elijah Company Mentorship Network on Prayerwalking.
now, Fathers' given me a love for prayer. + a love for walking. what better thing could i 'indulge' my soul & body in than Prayerwalking?
the email talked about: "Take time to listen to what He is saying. Move slowly. Be friendly. Greet people along the walk, and offer to pray for their needs."

he's non religious, to which i told him i was too. this surpised him.

i don't know why but i seemed hesitant to 'steer' the conversation to the gospel :S
 
what was i thinking??!! :|

really praying to focus back on Him
i felt this phone was becoming a bit of an idol for me . . .  iv been praying He'd show me any idols i still hold onto & _crush_ them so i might worship Him exclusively as He deserves.
maybe this was His way of honoring my prayer?! ;)
 
anyhow, He will provide. i just gotta stay focussed & trust Him :D
easier said than done, but sometimes its easier done than said! [because we like to complicate everything & live in the imagined realm - REALITY = GOD IS TRUSTWORTHY. PERIOD!

This certainly seemed like a strange formula for victory. Usually the men would simply go to the battlefield and fight. So it is when we take the gospel to the peoples of the world. Sometimes God will move in unusual ways to bring sinners to repentance and faith. At other times His messengers must work for decades before seeing fruit from their labors. It may appear that God will use medical workers or the JESUS Film to reach the Aguiri people. But He might do something else that will surprise us all.



Pray for God to show workers how He wants them to reach the people He's called them to serve!

:D our 1st session of Christianity Eplained went well! Niro was asking good questions! even though his friend couldn't come, (she had classes ..) it was great anyway ;) an obsever later commented we looked like we were close friends!

* reveal Himself to Niro as he reads the gospel according to Mark & open his eyes to see Jesus!

- he asked some good questions at a post-English Corner dinner last week .. called him earlier tonight to ask if he'd like to do the course 'Christianity Eplained' - we'll start 2pm Tuesday! he even asked if he could bring a friend or two along!

* work powerfully through His Mighty Word [and this weak vessel i am!] to reveal Jesus to him & his friends, convict them of sin & convert their souls!

Joshua, to whom God spoke these words, had been simply an assistant, and now he was to lead the Israelites. Today, our generation stands in awe of the missionary giants of previous eras. William Carey, Hudson Taylor, Cameron Townsend, Donald McGavran, and Ralph Winter are no longer walking among us. Nevertheless, God's challenge to us today rings as clear and sure as this word to Joshua centuries ago: Get ready to move! Thus the torch of responsibility passes from generation to generation. Are you ready to take the torch?

since the Aus. government was offering $1600 rebates to get houses insulated, my dad applied for it, and 2 Chilean brothers came over to install the free insulation.

was praying - really wanted to witness to them in some way.
tried being helpful, which they appreciated . . .
before they left i gave them 2 big money gospel tracts.

sometimes i really feel like my attempts to share the gospel are so small & weak. :|

a fellow worker in English Corner went to Auckland, New Zealand to run a TEAM day - Teaching English as Mission. Then onto the YWAM Backpacker's DTS school! please pray for them - the churches in Auckland will be encouraged and inspired to continue to Teach English as Mission. Also for the YWAMers that they will be inspired to reach out to the sojourners they meet on the trail!

may His people continue have their eyes lifted up to see the harvest is ripe NOW to harvest!
let's keep paying for many more laborers to be sent out into this harvest!!

- felt a little daunted at a table full of girls .. got the conversation started .. sked them if they'd had time in Aus to think about life's big questions - wanted so much to point them to The Answer to life's big questions, but didn't get to :"( .. after awhile, Bini arrived, since our table was full, i moved to another table with Bini - it wasn't long before the girls joined us! :|

it felt like an unproductive day so far as the gospel going out . . . :"(

"The people are bringing more than enough for doing the work the Lord commanded to be done." Exodus 36:5b

This is the kind of problem we want to have! There was too much being brought into the Lord's storehouse. The people of Israel were so grateful for God's deliverance that they were willing to give their all for the tabernacle. Many view Bangladesh as a poor country with not much to offer. But when the hand of God transforms a nation, that nation can become a source of both spiritual and material blessings to others.

Pray that believers in Bangladesh will bless the Lord by giving generously of their time and money to His radio work.


"Did I conceive all these people? Did I give them birth?" Numbers 11:12


Though this complaint to the Lord about his responsibility to the children of Israel may sound almost comical, it is a common feeling missionaries experience. Moses was overwhelmed with the responsibility and the burden. In one of their prayer letters, GRN staff note that "It's hard work; it often involves difficult travel and living conditions." In the flesh, it would be very easy for workers to consider the job un-do-able, and give up. But God is greater than any situation.

Pray for the Holy Spirit to refresh and encourage GRN staff in Bangladesh this month by adding to their numbers, just as He did for Moses (See tomorrow's Bible portion).

To despair of ourselves is the very key that opens the door to all the power, the victory, and fruitfulness in Christ that we seek. "I KNOW that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwells no good thing." I KNOW IT, Paul says. No good thing. I know that in me, in my flesh, in my Self, there is nothing. Apart from Him I am nothing. He is Everything. CHRIST IN ME is my only Hope.


In one part of me, my flesh, dwells no good thing. In the other part of me Christ lives.

* i'd live by FAITH IN HIM! & STOP living in fear!!


(He showed me way too much of my life is lived in the realm of imagined failures & fear of it!)


* my fears of possible sin won’t keep me from doing what Father wants, but I’d resolve to obey Him anyway!


* i’d stand firmly on The Truth ((all that Jesus has done for me at the Cross!),unshaken by the lies of the enemy


* i’d see past my failure the way Jesus does. [my HUGEST struggle!]
