so i've been getting loads of sleep & drinking loads of warm water ..

would really appreciate your prayers that more than anything else i stay focussed on Jesus in this sickness & draw me closer to Himself through it!

rejoice with me that this is only temporary - sickness is just a part of this fallen existence .. one day ALL sickness will be removed for ETERNITY!

.. until that day .. we have a Saviour to know & make known!

Perhaps one of the reasons why the children of Israel were allowed to suffer for so long in Egypt was that they would know what it was like to be oppressed, and not subject others to ill treatment. It was clear that their God wanted them to show justice to aliens when they became a nation, to show the world what could happen when people follow the One True God.


Pray that God's children in Bangladesh will demonstrate His heart of mercy by being merciful to the minority peoples that we will pray for this month.

i met Kim after his 1st time in English Corner 2 days ago, he joined us for dinner along with a new friend he'd made that day :) - Cindy. praying she can come to our church's mid-autumn festival celebration / outreach this Sat!

i mentioned Kim in my last post "praise & pray for Ralph, Hank, Evy, Brett, KB, Luke..." as the one who's been living here for 9 months but says he has no friends .. :"(
i felt a 'nudge' to give him a call last night & was amazed, yet again, how a simple phone call in the hands of God can lead to an evangelistic pportinity!
Kim says he was "born christian .. but has no passion for God" .. but he does want a relationship with God!
 :D relationship with God is possible through Jesus Christ!
!:D PRAISE! :D


:D blessing Kim  to live long enough to hear the gospel! [considering the thousands who are dying every second without ever hearing the precious Good News of Jesus Christ . . . that anyone lives long enough to hear is a HUGE BLESSING!

Joseph's perspective on the sovereignty of God gave him a powerful lens through which to interpret both his life and world history itself. Scripture tells us that in Christ the same perspective Joseph had is assured for us today: God causes all things to work together for good . . . to those who are called according to his purpose (Rom. 8:28). That purpose is to bring the blessing of a covenant relationship with the Creator God to every nation, tribe, people, and language. When we are walking in the light of that purpose we can be sure to always have the proper perspective on everything that happens in our lives and in our world.

Pray that God's redemptive plan for the Khondh people will become so apparent to them that they turn away from the worship of false gods, and embrace their Creator

"Abraham had become very wealthy in livestock and in silver and gold." Genesis 13:2



One of the surprising and yet widely misunderstood principles in Scripture is that God has no problem with making people wealthy. All throughout the Bible God raises people up to positions of power and influence. However, the purpose of this blessing must always be understood in the context in which God has placed it. He said to Abraham, I will bless you . . . and all peoples will be blessed through you (Gen. 12:2-3). Without the purpose behind the material success, that which was intended to bless can become a curse. The solution to this dilemma is to understand that we are but stewards of blessing for the purpose of redeeming all peoples to Him.

Pray that the Haddi people will soon realize that their blessing comes from Christ, not from entering a Hindu temple.

Chandala People In India


The concept of a name bears a lot of weight in Scripture. God chooses to reveal Himself to different people with different names that have a unique meaning to that person or people group. A prominent feature of the Old Testament is God encountering people and giving them a new name, meaning their character was forever changed as a result of the confrontation. In the New Testament we read of those who overcome being given a new name, which only God knows (Revelation 3:12). Names have significance, for good or for bad.

In India, the name Chandala is a derogatory expletive used to describe the untouchable Dalit communities in the Indo-Aryan speaking regions. Imagine what these people must feel like to know that their very name is used as a curse word! Upon arriving in different nations, it is not uncommon for people to change their name to a more user-friendly version according to the traditions of their new country. Yet some Chandalas have changed their name when they go to neighboring Bangladesh to escape the negative effects of the word. Pray for this group of so-called untouchables in India, where even their shadow is said to defile someone. Much like the lepers we read of in the Gospels, Jesus wants to touch the "untouchables" who have lived on the outskirts of society. Pray that they may come to know and identify with Jesus Christ, the One who Himself was "despised and rejected by men…one from whom men hide their faces" (Isa. 53:3, NIV).-MB

Today it feels like I’m drowning in a messy pool of sinful self-contradictions between all that I know in my head to be true & the disgusting way my thoughts & actions go directly against all i “know” to be good & true. :(

So once again, I come humbly asking your prayers as we journey on toward HIM! :)while it’s definitely not an easy journey, it is ever full of promise =)

* keep exposing all the subtle but deadly substitutes for God i make so that they’d be DESTROYED!
* i’d passionately resolve to resist anything that lures the heart away from an all-consuming satisfaction in God.
* I’d be so preoccupied with Jesus, not self!!!! – too often I’m more aware of my own weakness, inadequacy, & sin than I am mindful of His strength, adequacy & perfect righteousness that covers me!
I’ve been considering moving on from the international student ministries I’ve been involved in for the past 7 years … probably because of reasons related to the previous prayer point, but at a recent 10 year anniversary celebration for English corner, Father seemed to be saying “continue … “ pray I’d obey!
* His wisdom & purity would shape all my thoughts and conduct towards women!

i've been blessed to read "why revival tarries" by Leonard Ravenhill -- SUPER-CHALLENGING, SUPER- CONVICTING STUFF!

Here in Genesis chapter four we find an interesting contrast between two groups of people. The first descend from Cain, and they are identified by their careers, by what they are able to do. In this group are musicians, herders, metal smiths, and builders of cities. But the second group's identity is found in their relationship with the Lord. Today is no different. Most people, when asked to say something about themselves, identify who they are by what they do. But a few choose to identify themselves by Who they know.

Pray that the Ghatwar people of Orissa will cease to be known by what they do (prostitution), and will soon be transformed in such a way that they will be known by Who they know.
